Dry Cough

A cough with no phlegm or fluid that irritates the throat.

Definition

A dry cough often appears after a cold, an allergy, or stomach acid returning up to the throat. It may be worse at night and disturb sleep. Warm fluids and a humidifier for the room help calm the throat.
