Potassium

پۆتاسیۆم (Potassium)

An electrolyte that is very important for the heart and muscles.

Definition

An electrolyte that is very important for the heart and muscles. Some blood pressure medicines and water tablets, kidney disease, vomiting and diarrhoea can change it. A very high or very low potassium can upset the heart rhythm. If the blood sample was tested late or its cells broke, the result can be falsely high.
