This page explains what happens if Azithromycin and Ciprofloxacin are taken together, according to official sources.
Severe risk of lethal QT prolongation and Torsades de Pointes
Co-prescribing azithromycin with ciprofloxacin causes additive prolongation of the cardiac QT interval, predisposing to fatal Torsades de Pointes.
Avoid concurrent administration. If alternative antimicrobials cannot be used, continuous cardiac telemetry and baseline QTc monitoring are mandatory.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist about these two medicines; don't stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
